Penghu Story Wife Art Museum Introduction
Penghu Story Wife is a unique store focused on creative arts and crafts, founded by the couple Chen Zhenxiu and Liu Weizhi. In 2003, the store opened officially in conjunction with a series of events for the Drum and Barrel Art Festival, which included the establishment of a museum at the Fisherman's Wharf. The Penghu Story Wife Museum had its grand opening as part of the festival. The establishment of the museum connects the past trajectories of the Drum and Barrel Art Festival to the present and witnesses the artistic vision of Story Wife and the Drum and Barrel Village. It will serve as a long-term space for creators' exhibitions in the Drum and Barrel Art Village and is also tasked with enhancing local culture while connecting Taiwan with international art groups and various museums. The museum has three floors; the first floor is dedicated to cultural merchandise and a service desk, while the upper floors will be designed as exhibition spaces to showcase a series of works by creators. The name "Penghu Story Wife" was chosen because the owner felt like a wife who often narrates stories to her friends through her long history of letter writing, so from that day on, she began signing her letters as "Story Wife."
