Nong Lai Small Dining Table Introduction
"Long Lai, a small dining table" on Wufeng North Road offers a blend of traditional and trendy Taiwanese home-style dishes. The restaurant features a mural wall, a landmark of Chiayi, at its entrance. Although the owners are not from Chiayi, their love for this city beneath Alishan has led them to settle here. The restaurant space is filled with unique traditional Taiwanese elements, making it a nostalgic place for older patrons and a modern retro spot for the younger generation. Long Lai specializes in homestyle meal sets, with the owners purchasing fresh ingredients daily from the market. Almost all the signature sauces, such as soy sauce, chili oil, and pickled vegetables, are homemade. Popular dishes include "Thai-style lemon fish," distinguished by fresh fish and their homemade Taiwanese-style Thai sauce, and the must-try "private beef stew," as well as "private plum chicken," which is cooked using homemade pickled plums. Despite being located in a building, the interior design showcases a Taiwanese street-style vibe. Since its opening in 2020, it has attracted young customers who return to bring their families for meals, perfectly aligning with its original concept of creating a family restaurant that conveys Taiwanese flavors and generational integration.
