Living Spring Cultural Teahouse Introduction
In recent years, the rise of "Cypress Forest Living Village" in Chiayi City has attracted more tourists to experience the slow and leisurely lifestyle of this small city through cypress wood and poetry paired with tea. Huquan Cultural Teahouse is located at the entrance of Cypress Forest Living Village, overlooking a serene lotus pond. Established by Professor Fang from the Department of Tea Culture and Business Management at Tatung University, Huquan Cultural Teahouse has been in the Cypress Forest Living Village for three years. It aims to provide a space for domestic and international travelers to relax and savor the sweetness of Taiwanese high mountain tea, experience the beauty of Eastern tea, and promote tea culture. Between 2014 and 2016, Huquan Cultural Teahouse welcomed many foreign dignitaries, brewing pots of warm tea that conveyed the warmth of tea culture through centuries of history. Upon entering Huquan Cultural Teahouse, various exquisite tea utensils and pottery are gently and firmly placed in their locations, resembling gentlemen untouched by the dust of the mundane world. As the gaze crosses the cypress wood window lattice, the elegant scene of the lotus pond freezes the anxious pace of time, inviting guests to naturally settle at the wooden tables by the window to enjoy high mountain tea and leisurely moments. The "Tea Love Fashion" series offers handmade rose tart, colorful rainbow pastry, and romantic butterfly pea flower tea. The tea pounding experience in the shop allows guests to select their own tea variety and, using a method similar to Hakka's Lei Cha, pound the tea leaves into fine powder with a wooden stick in a ceramic bowl. The fragrant tea aroma wafts up, and then the pounded tea powder is added to a brewing pot, completing the homemade cold brew tea, which is paired with colorful rainbow pastry, creating a delightful chapter for the afternoon with this small tea art experience. In an era filled with cheap and easily accessible bubble tea, many have gradually forgotten the beauty of Taiwanese tea, yet there are still many tea lovers who gently yet resolutely protect Taiwanese tea culture in their own ways. Huquan Cultural Teahouse, in collaboration with Tatung University’s Department of Tea Culture and Business Management, continues to promote the value of Taiwanese tea. Recommended dishes: Tea pounding experience (choice of tea) and rainbow pastry.
