Huoquan Cultural Tea House

Chiayi Foods

With cypress wood and poetry accompanying tea, the rise of "Cypress Village" in Chiayi City has attracted more tourists to experience the slow-paced and leisurely lifestyle of a small city. The Huquan Cultural Tea House, located at the entrance of Cypress Village, boasts a tranquil lotus pond scenery. Established by Professor Fang from the tea culture and business management program of Tatung University, the Huquan Cultural Tea House has been in Cypress Village for over three years, aiming to provide a space where domestic and international travelers can calm down and savor the sweetness of Taiwan's high mountain tea, experience the beauty of Eastern tea, and promote tea culture. From 2014 to 2016, Huquan Cultural Tea House hosted numerous foreign dignitaries, steaming centuries of tea history into warm cups, allowing guests to feel the warmth of Huquan's tea culture. Stepping into the Huquan Cultural Tea House, exquisite tea utensils and pottery gently and firmly occupy their places, as if isolated from the world's dust. As one's gaze crosses the cypress window, the elegant lotus pond scenery freezes the anxious pace of time, leading guests to naturally settle by the wooden table by the window, enjoying the time spent with high mountain tea and leisurely company. The "Tea Love Gourmet" series offers handmade love rose tarts, happy rainbow pastries, and romantic butterfly pea flower tea. The in-house tea-pounding experience allows guests to select their preferred tea and use a method similar to Hakka lei tea, pounding the tea leaves into fine powder with a wooden stick in a ceramic bowl. The fragrant tea aroma wafts up, and then the ground tea powder is added to the brewing pot, completing the homemade cold brew tea, paired with the happy rainbow pastry, thus writing a beautiful chapter for one's afternoon with a small tea art experience. In an era filled with cheap and easily accessible hand-shaken teas, many have gradually forgotten the beauty of Taiwanese tea, yet numerous tea lovers continue to guard Taiwanese tea culture in their own ways. Huquan Cultural Tea House, in collaboration with Tatung University’s tea culture and business management program, continues to promote the preciousness of Taiwanese tea. Recommended dishes: Tea-pounding experience (choose your tea), rainbow pastry.
