Chiayi Ke Restaurant Introduction
The two brothers, Wang Jiayi and Wang Shuicheng, who opened the culinary origins of Shenkeng Old Street, initially started a noodle stall at the temple entrance. Later, the younger brother's shop, Shenkeng Temple's Tofu King, became famous far and wide, while the skilled older brother Wang Jiayi's "Jiayi Pavilion" also gained a reputation for its tofu dishes in the old street. Due to the unique cooking method of Shenkeng tofu, where the soybeans are not blended into a fine pulp, the resulting tofu has a slightly charred flavor from simmering at the bottom. Dishes like braised tofu and tofu pudding have a distinctive aroma and a tender, smooth taste, making them highly recommended by food connoisseurs.
