Jiufen Old Noodle Shop Introduction
Jiufen Old Noodle Shop has been in operation since 1958 and is currently run by the second generation, Chef Shi, who also cooks the noodles in front of the stall. Although Jiufen Old Noodle Shop is not the first noodle shop established in the Jiufen area, it is the first to offer beef noodles, which have consistently been the signature dish of the restaurant from past to present. The earliest customers of Jiufen Beef Noodles were local residents and miners from Jinguashi and Jiufen. Due to the physically demanding nature of mining, the beef noodles were particularly popular among locals and miners.
