Jiufen Old Street Noodle Shop Introduction
Jiufen Old Noodle Shop has been in business since 1958 and is currently run by the second generation, Boss Shi, who also cooks the noodles right in front of the stall. Although Jiufen Old Noodle Shop is not the first noodle shop established in Jiufen, it is the first to offer beef noodle soup. From the past to the present, beef noodle soup has always been the signature dish of Jiufen Old Noodle Shop. The earliest customers of Jiufen beef noodle soup were local residents of Jinguashi and Jiufen, as well as mining workers. The dish became especially popular among locals and miners, possibly due to the considerable physical strength required for mining work.
