Quanxiang Douhua Introduction
Located next to the Cihui Temple in Banqiao, Quanxiang Douhua has been one of the most famous dessert stalls in the Fuzhong business district for over twenty years, known for its rich, fresh, and tender pudding-style douhua that carries a light egg aroma. The method of making douhua at Quanxiang is relatively intricate; they use non-GMO yellow soybeans, which are ground and cooked to create fragrant douhua with a smooth, refreshing, and delicate texture that leaves a lasting aftertaste with every bite. In addition to the delicious douhua, all the toppings here are delicious accompaniments, lovingly simmered by the owner in their pots. Traditional toppings include tapioca pearls, QQ balls, adzuki beans, flower beans, grass jelly, aiyu jelly, oats, taro, taro balls, glutinous rice balls, and sweet potatoes. When served over the douhua with a special lightly sweetened syrup, it becomes irresistibly appealing during the hot summer months. In winter, Quanxiang also offers red bean soup, peanut soup, and job's tears soup, which are highly recommended by consumers. The smooth, fragrant, and delicate Quanxiang Douhua has become a fond memory for many Banqiao residents who enjoy a bowl of dessert after meals.
