Each day, a group of fans rides or drives from other places just to buy these treats. The main reason is that the owner, Hsu Yu-eh, has consistently used traditional methods for steaming rice into rice noodles and starch noodles for 30 years, allowing people to savor the warm taste of home. In particular, the starch cake commonly known as "alkaline rice cake" is made without the use of borax, using only traditional rice. The rice is washed, ground, and kneaded by hand without cutting corners. Coupled with a syrup made from malt and brown sugar, the delightful flavor is hard to stop once you start.
