Jinbaoli Market Soy Milk Shop

Taipei Foods

The old soybean milk shop in the old market is a well-known breakfast spot in the Jinshan area, famous for its handcrafted soy milk made with traditional techniques that have been passed down for half a century. The shop uses imported non-GMO premium yellow soybeans, grinding them without filtering out the soy pulp, resulting in a cooked product with a slightly toasted flavor that makes every guest want to come back for more. The first-generation owner, Chen Lin Bao Rong, still helps make rice balls in the shop every day. The glutinous rice balls are filled with meat floss and preserved radish, paired with soft and warming youtiao (fried dough), giving them a texture that far surpasses typical rice balls from other soybean milk shops. It's no wonder that many office workers living in Jinshan stop by the market to grab a few rice balls on their way to work. There's also the traditional egg pancake, which has a rich flavor achieved through meticulous preparation, something you can't find elsewhere. Source: New Taipei City Food Guide, August issue
