Zhang Baoren, the general manager of Changchun Healthy Vegetarian Restaurant Chain, comes from a family that sells vegetables. He worked part-time while studying at Cheng Kung University Affiliated Technical School and washed dishes at a self-service restaurant to help his family. After being an apprentice at a Sichuan restaurant, he decided to pursue vegetarian dining due to his reluctance to kill and his grandmother's advice. After military service, he continued in the food and beverage industry, starting from dishwashing out of passion. He passed the Level C and Level B Chinese culinary certification exams and later started his own business. He is well-versed in all restaurant-related processes and, because he puts more effort into it than the average operator, Changchun Healthy Vegetarian Restaurant has developed a unique "LOHAS" style among vegetarian restaurants.
