A bistro opened by a Chiayi native, you're welcome to wear shorts here! Many dining etiquette guides say that shorts are not acceptable in restaurants, but at Le Ning Burger, which features the unique branding of "shorts get you a discount," they have specially opened té khòo, a shorts restaurant, inviting everyone to enjoy a relaxed meal and drinks. When I privately asked the owner, Brother YC, whether it was a rationalization of his love for wearing shorts, he replied: "Absolutely correct." So come on over! Le Ning Burger is regarded as the pride of Chiayi, with locations expanding to Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung, making it a powerful local burger brand. Looking back to its founding in 2007, Brother YC and his nutritionist wife started with "thefreen – Fresh Green Healthy Fruits & Vegetables," but were surprised by the immense popularity of the burgers, which led to the transformation into "Le Ning Burger." Their dream of "sharing a beloved food culture" has never faded. Té khòo shorts restaurant not only recalls the romantic sentiment of "Le Ning's predecessor – the fruit and vegetable shop," but is also one of the few restaurants in Chiayi promoting natural wines.
