BAR SKITZ Introduction
In the swirling smoke of the cup, SKIT at the foot of Alishan is a musical "interlude" designed to relax the senses. It is somewhat like a sorbet served before the main course in Western dining, acting as a transitional moment. The owner, Xiao Qi, believes that a bar is just like SKIT: after a busy day, one should first enjoy a cocktail to settle the chaotic thoughts before heading home to rest. It serves as a gentle transition in the context of life, where the bartender acts like a ferryman, swaying along with the rhythm to accompany patrons ashore. Bar Skitz is located in a secluded corner of the Central Square, not far from the Cultural Road shopping district. As tourism in Chiayi blooms and more young people return home, the nightlife becomes increasingly vibrant. These elements inspire Xiao Qi in her mixology: notably the "Shang," designed specifically for night owls, which combines aged brandy with tea and coffee elements, creating a rich and lingering finish, reminiscent of the mountains that guard the city. The "Mountain Mist" cocktail features gin as the base, paired with Alishan Oriental Beauty tea, and is smoked with dried pine needles and oak before serving, mimicking the misty clouds enveloping the mountains, full of ritual significance.
