Temple Street Black Wheel Stall Introduction
The black wheel stall in front of Xikou Beiji Temple has been operating since 1995, and it has been nearly 25 years. The establishment of this black wheel stall actually hides the concern and responsibility of the owner, Mr. Chen Hsien-Jen (who is also the current village chief of Xixi Village), for his family. In order to provide a better and worry-free life for his family, the owner chose to sell black wheels, his favorite food, as a side business. Eventually, with his mother's encouragement, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to running this black wheel stall. To ensure that the farming customers have more satisfying food, the owner also included his grandmother's specialty fried noodles as one of the offerings of the black wheel stall. As the business prospered, he successively introduced various fried items including oyster fritters and tofu oysters, bringing the family together to work hard for their livelihood. The owner would also like to remind all dear customers that to maintain the chewiness of the noodles, the traditional style fried noodles at the black wheel stall are still cooked daily and not ordered from external sources, so the fried noodles are served in limited quantities each day! To keep the outer crispiness and inner juiciness, the oyster fritters and tofu oysters need to be fried fresh upon order, so all customers are asked to be patient while waiting!
