Xikou Meatball Introduction
Xikou Meatballs in front of the Xikou North Polar Palace was established in 1976 by Mr. Sun Chongde. In order to learn the craft of making meatballs, he worked hard to gather NT$30,000 to apprentice in Xingang. Now, due to his advanced age, the business is run by the second generation, Mr. Sun Jiangming. This long-established shop, operating for nearly 45 years, makes meatballs with a chewy skin and substantial filling, while the sauce is made by simmering glutinous rice with sugar. Pairing it with a bowl of dried fish soup from the shop enhances the flavor even more.
