A-Jen's Traditional Cuisine Introduction
Located at the entrance of the Xikou vegetable market, Auntie A-Jen's traditional cuisine has been in operation for twenty years. Although there are no extravagant decorations, the dedication of the owner and his wife to traditional flavors fills the shop with familiar and beloved aromas for every food lover. Whether it’s meat soup, rice cake, pork rib stew, or other soup dishes, everything is worth tasting. Notably, the "Grandma's Taro Cake," which is only made on Tuesdays and Saturdays, is a signature dish passed down from the couple who once worked as catering chefs known as "Shorty." Now in its third generation, every ingredient from the filling to the outer layer is insisted to be handmade without any chemical additives. Not only is each piece filled generously with a unique flavor, but the outer layer is also very aromatic and chewy. "Eating it makes you nostalgic; not eating it makes you miss it," is the best description from customers. To serve more patrons, the shop now offers orders and delivery for both the taro cake and pork rib stew. Customers are welcome to place orders.
