Douhua Old Shop Introduction
This snack shop, located at No. 151, Guogou Dong'an Village, Budai Township, is next to a local Cheng Huang Temple. The shop features only two simple sets of tables and chairs, a stall, and an old menu that has been around for thirty years. They offer only three snacks: black tea, mung bean soup, and douhua (tofu pudding). Although these are three simple desserts, they involve significant expertise. The douhua is handmade, both chewy and soft, and the syrup is simmered for an entire day and night, resulting in exceptional fragrance and sweetness. In the mung bean soup, each mung bean is perfectly cooked – neither too hard nor too soft – providing an excellent texture.
