Dadongshan Leisure Resort Center Introduction
The most acclaimed spot in the famous Dinh Hu Scenic Area is the Dungshan Leisure Resort Center. The restaurant within, under the ever-changing culinary skills of the owner, always amazes visitors every time they come up the mountain. The mouth-watering poached native chicken is a dish that never gets tiresome; with its crispy skin and sweet, non-greasy meat, it has become a must-order signature dish for connoisseurs. The poached chicken is so delicious mainly because the owner, Jian Kunying, specially selects her free-range chickens that are over six months old and only fed corn, known as "corn chickens." Therefore, no special cooking method is needed—just boiling in cold water for forty-five minutes, then rubbing salt after it’s taken out of the pot results in an earthly delicacy, naturally the most delicious and healthiest. Besides the poached chicken, the owner’s skill in cooking scallion-infused mountain spring tofu has left many tourists moved by its unique smooth and tender flavor upon their first bite. The set meals at the resort start from NT$2000 and include six dishes and a soup, all classic dishes. The organic vegetables served are healthy and nutritious; remember to order the stir-fried cabbage and mountain celery. If you want to nourish the elders, don’t forget the owner’s other specialty, the stewed chicken with Ashitaba. After the meal, you can ask the owner, who also serves as a volunteer tour guide, to take you on a journey through Dungshan, leaving you with delightful memories.
