Dapo Village Introduction

Dapo Village Kawaliwali is the earliest established Amis village in Chihshang Township. According to records, the Amis people who came from Hengchun settled here and established the village as early as 1880. Later, most of the Amis villages in Chihshang Township branched off from Dapo Village. Dapo Village is located on the right side of Dapo Lake in Chihshang. Kawaliwali means "east" in the Amis language, originally indicating that the village is located east of Dapo Lake. Dapo Lake is a naturally formed lake between the Central Mountain Range and the Coastal Mountain Range, with its main water source coming from the Xinwulu River. Dapo Village Travel Information

Address：Dapo, Chihshang Township, Taitung County 958, Taiwan

Transportation Methods：By train: Take the Taiwan Railways and get off at Chishang Station. Walk approximately 250 meters along Zhongzheng Road to the Chishang Rice Cultural Story House. After crossing the street, turn right and walk to the next intersection, then turn left and walk about 450 meters to arrive. By bus: Take Eastern Taiwan Lines buses 8161, 8163, 8165, or 8166 and get off at Chishang Station. Walk south along Taiwan Route 9, then turn left onto Zhongshan Road and continue straight for about 600 meters to reach your destination.
