Checheng Winery Introduction
Checheng Winery is located in Checheng Village, ShuiLi Township, Nantou, and officially opened on April 20, 2003. The main members are farmers primarily engaged in plum cultivation, known as the Third Class of the ShuiLi Township Farmers' Association. Under the technical guidance of the Ministry of Agriculture, the traditional agricultural model has been transformed into a refined agricultural practice. At the initial stage of establishing the winery, the original factory site was severely damaged by Typhoon Tashia at the end of July 2001, resulting in the destruction of the factory, equipment, and products. There were considerations to abandon the winery project. Finally, with the assistance of the ShuiLi Township Farmers' Association, the scope of participating shareholders was expanded from just the members of the Third Class of the ShuiLi Township fruit production and marketing to include all plum farmers within the township. This allowed for the establishment of the "Checheng Winery" in the picturesque Checheng community, known for its titles of "Last Train Station" and "Secret Garden," continuing the delightful flavors of the plum hometown. The area is tranquil, beautiful, and safe, surrounded by mountains and forests, with the ShuiLi Creek flowing in front and verdant hills and trees in the back. To the left is the Mingtan Pumped Storage Power Station, the largest in Asia, while to the right offers a bird's eye view of the Checheng Railway Station, known as the "Last Train Station," along with beautiful railway scenery. Other local attractions include the "Old Street, Sky Train, Log Pond, Red Tile Houses, Ancient Buildings, Old Wood Factory, Coal-Fired Train Water Tower, and Checheng Elementary School..." and more.
