Jijibanana Banana Cultural Factory Introduction

To discuss the history of Jiji, one must begin with the "Jiji banana." Thanks to the unique climate and soil, Jiji bananas are particularly delicious—fragrant, sweet, and juicy with a chewy texture, offering a distinct flavor. Taiwan was once praised as the "Kingdom of Bananas," and in the early days, a large quantity of bananas was exported to Japan, with the Central Taiwan bananas playing a significant role. Jiji bananas once satisfied the discerning palate of the Emperor of Japan and were designated as imperial tribute, marked with the character "千" on the basket as a guarantee of quality. Introducing the characteristics of Jiji bananas, visiting Jiji is not just about taking a small train ride or enjoying the mountain town's scenery; Jiji is filled with historical stories, once a glorious paradise of bananas. The Jiji Banana Museum has three major themed areas: the outdoor banana plantation ecological park, which cultivates over 103 varieties of bananas, including ornamental and edible types. In the late afternoon, you can gaze at the "Jiji Lanhe Weir" as the setting sun casts its glow over the banana plantation—it's truly beautiful! The production building is the headquarters of Jiji Banana Company, where many delicious products are produced, including banana chocolate, banana rolls, banana chips, and golden banana strips, among others.
