Hua and Manba Rock Introduction
From the Special Study Center, along the small path on the east side of the Conservation Center, it takes about 5 to 8 minutes to reach "Huaji Manguo Stele." In the spring of the 12th year of the Guangxu era, the characters "Huaji Manguo" were inscribed on a large rock, and later, people repainted it with red lacquer. In addition to the four large characters, the stele also clearly states: "Authorized by the Governor-General of Taiwan and Pescadores, Chen Fangbo, to nurture and develop the indigenous communities." The Huaji Manguo Stele, along with the Opening Wilderness Stele, is a designated national historic site, serving as evidence of land reclamation during the Qing Dynasty. Although it is located in a remote area and can be hard to find, the scenic views along the way are suitable for a leisurely walk. Visitors can also head to Ming Hsin Academy for a cultural journey.
