Hua and Manzikou Rock Introduction

From the Endemic Species Research Institute, a drive along the small road on the east side of the Conservation Center takes about 5 to 8 minutes to reach "Huaji Mankai Stele." In the spring of the 12th year of the Guangxu era, the words "Huaji Mankai" were inscribed on a large rock, later repainted in red by later generations. In addition to the four large characters of the main text, it is clearly inscribed on the stele: "Commissioned by the Governing Minister, Chen Fangbo, in charge of the Tai-Peng Military Affairs, to promote development." The Huaji Mankai Stele, along with the "Kaiping Honghuang Stele," is a designated national historic site, serving as evidence of land reclamation during the Qing Dynasty. Although it is located in a remote area and can be difficult to find, the scenic views along the way make it suitable for a leisurely walk. Visitors can also take the opportunity to head to Mingxin Academy for a cultural journey.
