Wuchang Temple Introduction

Wuchang Temple is dedicated to Xuantian Shangdi (the Supreme Emperor of Heaven) and was completely destroyed during the 921 earthquake. Fortunately, devotees managed to rescue the idols during the aftershocks. After several years, the temple has been preserved in its post-disaster appearance, making it a popular site that retains the earthquake relics in Jiji Township. It is said that the beard of the deity is gradually growing longer, and since devotees have heard about this, they have been flocking to pay their respects, turning it into a famous earthquake memorial site in Jiji Township.
