Jiji Train Station Original Flavor Kitchen Introduction
Located directly across from Jiji Train Station, the first floor is dedicated to the exhibition and sale of agricultural products, while the second floor features the original kitchen of the train head. As you ascend the stairs, you can admire historical photos of Jiji, and outside the window lies a vast green playground. The balcony offers a view of the bustling crowd, making dining no longer a hurried affair, allowing you to enjoy the traditional flavors of Jiji! One of the most impressive signature dishes is the bamboo shoot-flavored meal, including dishes such as dried bamboo shoots with braised pork, crispy bamboo shoot soup with pork ribs, fish soup with shredded bamboo shoots, bream fish with bamboo shoots in sauce, and bamboo shoots with sesame oil sauce. In the 1950s, the countryside faced material shortages, and fish and meat were only available during festivals. Therefore, when the air is filled with the aroma of dried bamboo shoots accompanied by the scent of braised pork, it feels as if the essence of the New Year is drawing near, evoking a sense of joy and happiness.
