Jiji Train Station Original Kitchen Introduction
Located diagonally across from Jiji Train Station, the first floor features a display of agricultural specialty products, while the second floor houses a traditional kitchen named "Locomotive Flavors." Ascend the stairs to admire old photographs of Jiji's rich history, and enjoy a view of the spacious green playground outside, where you can overlook the bustling crowds. Dining here is no longer hurried; instead, you can savor Jiji’s traditional flavors! One of the most impressive signature dishes is the bamboo shoot flavor meal, which includes dishes like dried bamboo shoots with braised pork, crispy bamboo shoot and pork rib soup, bamboo shoot fish soup, stewed fish with bamboo shoots, and sesame oil bamboo shoots. In the rural 1950s, material scarcity meant that fish and meat were only enjoyed during festivals. Therefore, when the air is filled with the aroma of dried bamboo shoots accompanied by the scent of braised pork, it feels like the festive season is drawing near—a flavor rich in joy and happiness.
