Jiji Train Station Original Cuisine Introduction
Located directly across from Jiji Railway Station, the first floor features a showcase of agricultural products, while the second floor houses the original flavor kitchen of the train station. As you ascend the stairs, you can appreciate old historical photos of Jiji, and outside the window lies a vast green field playground. The balcony offers a view of the bustling crowd, making dining no longer a hurried affair, allowing you to enjoy the traditional flavors of Jiji! Among the most impressive signature dishes is the bamboo shoot gourmet meal, including dishes like dried bamboo shoot with braised pork, crispy bamboo shoot rib soup, bamboo shoot fish soup, fish with bamboo shoot and sauce, and sesame oil bamboo shoot. In the 1950s, rural areas faced material shortages, and fish and meat were only consumed during festivals; thus, when the aroma of dried bamboo shoots mixed with that of braised pork wafted through the air, it felt like the New Year was approaching—a scent filled with joy and happiness.
