Ming Hsin University of Technology Introduction
Ming Hsin Academy is a traditional three-part courtyard building, featuring a main hall with three sections and surrounded by red brick walls on three sides. Established in the early years of the Guangxu era due to the development of the Central Mountain Range and the flourishing camphor industry, the marketplace thrived, and cultural activities flourished. As a result, the local gentry advocated for the establishment of Ming Hsin Academy in Chaiqiao Village. In the ninth year of Guangxu, the Zuo Shui River flooded, bringing down many large trees, and the timber flowing down from the mountains was used to construct the academy. The main altar enshrines the deity Wenchang Dijun, along with the deities of Zizhi Sheng and Zi Yang Fuzi, and the most revered Confucius, the "Great Sage and Teacher." Throughout the academy, including the altar, hanging plaques, entrance hall, and side corridors, couplets highlight the aspiration to inherit the teachings of Confucian masters. In recent years, the academy has combined festive celebrations with traditional folk arts and cultural festivals, enhancing its role in cultural activities while promoting local industry, culture, and tourism.
