Unable to bear seeing his elderly parents in Pingtung struggling to manage their traditional restaurant, which was being overwhelmed by the rapidly changing trends, he decisively left the bustling metropolis of Taipei, gave up the enviable military job, and returned to his humble hometown. With a vision in mind, he built his dream estate not relying on professional designers or skilled craftsmen, but purely based on his dreams and his own clumsy hands, completing everything from stone to wood independently.
