Dongshi / Hailongyuan Restaurant (Selected to participate in the 2010 Taiwan Food Exhibition as a Featured Restaurant) Introduction
Dongshi Harbor is renowned across Taiwan for its oyster farming, featuring thousands of hectares of fishing grounds and the largest offshore oyster farms in the country, making it truly the "hometown of oysters." Oysters, known for their rich organic zinc, selenium, and taurine content, are commonly referred to as "oysters" or "oysters" in different cultures. Europeans call them "sea milk," while in Japan, they are regarded as "imperial food." During the Ming Dynasty in China, oysters were poetically named "West Lake Beauty's Milk," and in Taiwan, they are popularly known as "oysters." The best time to enjoy oysters is from April to September when they are the plumpest, attracting many food enthusiasts to savor them. The specialty of Dongshi Budai Seafood Restaurant is its "fresh" offerings. The Hailongyuan Restaurant in Dongshi uses the freshest and plumpest local oysters to create delicious oyster dishes. Furthermore, Hailongyuan is one of the largest restaurants in Dongshi and a favorite among locals. The "Tomato Sauce Seafood Fresh Oyster Jelly" features fresh oysters mixed with tomato sauce to create a unique, QQ jelly with a distinctive flavor and innovative texture. The "Soy Sauce Braised Tender Bone Crucian Carp" uses locally farmed crucian carp, marinated in soda for 12 hours until the bones are completely tender and then cooked until melt-in-your-mouth soft, making the whole fish edible. The "Italian Chilled Live Eel" is also an innovative dish, ideal for the often hot weather in Dongshi, providing a refreshing treat to cool down.
