San Wei Salt and Pepper Chicken Introduction
Passing by Datong Road, we were drawn in by the aroma of salty crispy chicken from a stall that has now become #Sanwei Salty Crispy Chicken. The name comes from the fact that they offer only three flavors: salty crispy chicken, tempura, and squid balls, with the option to choose a mix of all three. They start operating in the afternoon, and during after-work and after-school hours, there is always a long line. It's a highly recommended snack among locals in Hsinchu. #Chengbian believes it's perfect as an afternoon tea or a pre-meal snack. The salty crispy chicken is savory, tender, and juicy, with a crispy exterior enhanced by the fragrance of white sesame, preserving the chicken's natural flavors. The tempura is soft yet chewy, fried to a satisfying texture, and the squid balls are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a springy bite. Despite only having three options, each is so delicious that one simply cannot stop eating.
