25×40 Art Space Introduction

Huang Yizhen, a 25-year-old working in Taipei, developed a dream of opening a café after reading the book "The Heartbroken Café". After 15 years in the workforce, she finally realized her dream at the age of 40 on Zhongzheng Road in Chiayi City. This is the origin of the name 25x40 Art Space, combining the two significant numbers. Upon entering 25x40 Art Space, the old cypress wood house tells a story of over 60 years of history, which is why Yizhen decided to rent it upon her first sight and spent three months renovating it. The high, open structure seems to welcome any passerby who might inadvertently stop by. The space offers irregular exhibitions and sales of cultural and creative works. During her graduate studies, Yizhen felt that many artists and creators had few opportunities to showcase their work, prompting her desire to provide a platform for their artistic talents to shine. In addition to selling physical products, Yizhen also curates various cultural and artistic activities, often inviting well-known figures from across the country to hold lectures, workshops, and concerts in the shop, hoping to promote and invigorate cultural exchanges in Chiayi City through these events. The old cypress wood house used to be connected to the neighboring building, and the craftsman said the cypress wood used in the house is high-quality timber from Alishan, suggesting that the house may have once belonged to a person of certain power or economic standing. Through the passage of time, the house has shed its wealth and fame, and after meeting Yizhen, it has transformed into the first open art space in Chiayi City, sincerely inviting everyone with a passion for the arts to come here and share their beautiful dreams. Recommended dish: Alishan Tea.
