Mountain and Sea Family Introduction
Shanhai Yijia is located on top of Qingfan Village, appearing as an ordinary milky white building, but behind it lies many important historical stories and painful memories of Xijuy Island. In 1949, after the fall of mainland China, more than 4,200 young men formed guerrilla units to defend this area, but the Ministry of National Defense only allocated funds for 1,257 soldiers' rations. The guerrilla units had to rely on themselves in such harsh conditions and carried out several raids on the opposite shore, resulting in the loss of more than 2,000 soldiers, with tragic sacrifices. In 1950, with the outbreak of the Korean War, a U.S. intelligence unit codenamed "Western Company" was stationed here to train the East Sea troops for intelligence and guerrilla operations against the mainland. The location of Western Company and the headquarters of the East Sea troops was in Shanhai Yijia. Currently, Shanhai Yijia is gradually transforming into a café, having been established for over sixty years. The young men of that era are dwindling, leaving Shanhai Yijia standing quietly on the hillside of Qingfan, witnessing those turbulent years filled with tears and blood.
