Caipo Harbor Introduction
Caipu Bay is located on the northeast side of Xiju Island and belongs to Tianwo Village. The bay gets its name from the abundant production of nori. The rights to the nori harvested from a large reef near the coast called "Caipu Seal" are managed by the Chen Yuanshuai Temple Management Committee, which publicly holds bidding during the nori harvesting season, allowing the highest bidder to collect nori from the reef. The coastal landscape of Caipu Bay is characterized by typical granite cone-shaped formations with significant elevation changes and steep terrain. The granite veins radiate into the sea, creating valleys and bays of varying sizes. The hard granite, long subject to weathering and wave erosion, has resulted in cliffs and perilous reefs, leading to a diverse coastal topography. Caipu Bay is not only an important tourist attraction in Juguang Township, but also one of the best fishing spots favored by anglers due to the significant variations in ocean currents and rich fishing resources.
