Tsai Pu Ao Introduction
Caipu Bay is located in the northeast of Xuju Island and belongs to Tianwo Village. The bay is named for its abundant production of nori. The rights to the nori harvested from a large offshore reef known as "Caipu Yin" are owned by the management committee of the Chen Yuan Shuai Temple. During the peak season for nori production, the temple management committee holds a public bidding event, and only the winning bidder is entitled to collect nori from the reef. The coastal landscape of Caipu Bay features typical granite cone shapes, with significant and steep terrain. The granite veins radiate deep into the sea, forming valleys and bays of various sizes. The granite is hard, and after long-term weathering and wave erosion, it often creates cliffs and dangerous reefs, resulting in highly diverse coastal topography. Caipu Bay is not only an important tourist attraction in Juguang Township, but due to significant variations in sea currents and rich fish resources, it is also one of the best fishing spots favored by anglers.
