Caipao Bay Introduction
Caipu Bay is located on the northeastern side of Xiju Island and belongs to Tianwo Village. The bay is named after the abundant production of nori (seaweed). The nori rights of a large reef near the shore, known as "Caipu Impression," are managed by the Chen Yuanshuai Temple Management Committee. During the season of high nori production, the committee publicly holds auctions, and only the winners have the right to harvest nori from the reef. The coastal landscape of Caipu Bay features typical granite conical formations, with a highly undulating and steep terrain. The granite veins radiate deeply into the sea, forming valleys and bays of varying sizes. The hard granite, subject to long-term weathering and wave erosion, often results in cliffs and dangerous reefs, thus creating a very diverse coastal landscape. Caipu Bay is not only an important tourist attraction in Juguang Township but also one of the best fishing spots favored by anglers due to the significant variations in ocean currents and rich fishing resources.
