Caipao Bay Introduction
Caipu Bay is located in the northeastern part of Xiju Island, under the administration of Tianwo Village. The bay is named after its abundant production of nori (seaweed). The nori rights of a large offshore rock called "Caipu Seal" are managed by the committee of the Chen Yuanshuai Temple. During the nori harvesting season, the temple committee publicly holds bidding; the winner has the right to gather nori from the reef. The coastal natural landscape of Caipu Bay is characterized by typical granite conical formations, with a highly undulating and steep terrain. The granite veins radiate into the sea, creating various valleys and bays of different sizes. The hard granite, subjected to long periods of weathering and erosion by waves, has resulted in cliffs, treacherous reefs, and other terrain, leading to a highly diverse coastal topography. Caipu Bay is not only an important tourist attraction in Juguang Township, but also a favored fishing spot among anglers due to the significant changes in sea currents and abundant fish resources.
