Caipouao Introduction
Caipu Bay is located in the northeast of Xiju Island and belongs to Tianwo Village. The bay is named for its abundance of seaweed. A large reef near the shore, known as "Caipu Impression," has its seaweed rights managed by the Committee of the Chen Yuanshuai Temple. Each season during the peak seaweed harvest, the committee holds a public auction where the highest bidder obtains the right to collect seaweed from the reef. The natural landscape along Caipu Bay features typical granite cone topography, characterized by significant undulation and steep terrain. Granite veins radiate deeply into the sea, forming valleys and bays of various sizes. Due to the hardness of the granite, it has been subject to long-term weathering and erosion by waves, resulting in cliffs and hazardous reefs, contributing to a highly diverse coastal landscape. Caipu Bay is not only an important tourist attraction in Juguang Township but, due to its considerable tidal variations and rich fishing resources, it is also one of the best fishing spots favored by anglers.
