魚路古道

The historical trail connecting Dapu and Daping, known as the "Fish Route Trail" or "Xiadilu," has a history of over a hundred years. It served as a vital pathway for fishermen from Dapu to transport their catches to Daping for sale during times of material scarcity. In pursuit of a livelihood, residents of both settlements traveled between Daping and Dapu. Today, as the fishing industry has declined, the ancient path became a relic due to the migration of the population from the two villages. However, with the cooperation of the East Jue Community Development Association and Dongjue Elementary School, residents have come together to clear weeds and plant trees, restoring the ancient path and transforming it into an ecological park. The ecology along the trail is incredibly rich, with various migratory birds and butterflies bringing surprises at every turn as the seasons change. The native plants add a variety of colors to the trail throughout the year. In September each year, red flowers of the Lycoris radiata bloom abundantly along the hillside paths; in October, visitors can savor the sweet milky flavor of "Zheguo"; in November, clusters of yellow chrysanthemum resemble a golden carpet. In recent years, the East Jue Community Association has also begun updating the forest landscape, reintroducing native Lycoris plants, as well as Matsu lilies and various fruit trees such as peach blossoms, cherry blossoms, and passion fruits, hoping to bring more diversity to the trail. The Fish Route Trail originally had two exits, and one can walk straight from Dapu to reach Daping Village.

Yulu Ancient Trail Introduction

The historical trail connecting Dapu and Daping, known as the "Yulu Ancient Trail" or "Xiadil Road," has a history of over a hundred years. This trail served as a vital route for fishermen in Dapu to transport their catch to Daping during times of hardship. The residents of the two communities would hustle back and forth between Daping and Dapu to make ends meet. Today, as the fishing industry has declined, the old trail became a desolate site due to population migration from both villages. However, with the cooperation of the Dongju Community Development Association and Dongju Elementary School, residents have come together to clear weeds and plant trees, restoring the ancient trail and transforming it into an ecological park. The ecosystem along the trail is incredibly rich, with various migratory birds and butterflies bringing surprises at each corner with the changing seasons. Native plants add vibrant colors to the trail throughout the year. Each September, the red spider lilies bloom profusely along the hillside paths; in October, visitors can enjoy the sweet milky fragrance of "zheguo" (Wax apple); and in November, clusters of yellow chrysanthemum create a golden carpet. In recent years, the Dongju Community Association has also begun updating the vegetation, reviving not only native spider lilies but also the Matsu lily and pear trees, as well as planting peach blossoms, cherry blossoms, and passion fruit. This aims to add more diversity to the appearance of the old trail. The Yulu Ancient Trail originally had two exits. Starting from Dapu, one can walk straight to Daping Village, while a turn at the fish drying area leads past "Puzuo" (near the current power plant) to Mengao Harbor. Taking a trip along the ancient trail allows one to experience the hardships faced by the ancestors who walked with burdens along this path.
