Zhongliu Island Introduction
Zhongliu Islet, located off the northern coast of Dongju in Matsu, is a small reef island that rises from the sea to the northwest of the Fuzheng settlement. Also known as Yongliou Islet, local fishermen refer to it as Yu'ao. The island has no trees but is rich in shellfish resources. During low tide, the pebble beach is exposed, effectively connecting Fuzheng Beach and the nearby Zhongliu Islet. At this time, villagers often gather in small groups along the rocky shore to collect nature's bounty, picking shellfish and seaweed, enjoying the joy of a fruitful harvest, ensuring their trip is worthwhile.
