Bishan Observation Deck Introduction

Bishan, with an elevation of 298 meters, is the highest mountain in the Matsu area, yet it is quite suitable for beginner hikers. The mountain is dotted with fortifications, and the highest point's command post serves as the core of defense for Beigan, responding to Nangan and controlling the entire Matsu waters, making it one of the military hotspots in the Matsu archipelago. Due to the command post being situated at the summit, the Bishan Camp is still under strict surveillance, but it has been opened to public visits. Alongside the road below the Beigan command post, there is an observation deck, which is the best viewpoint in Beigan. On clear, cloudless days, one can enjoy a distant view of Hou'ao Village located at the foot of Dawoshan, the coastal Beigan Airport, the exquisite Tanghou Beach, the bustling Tangqi Street, as well as nearby islands such as Luoshan, Bangshan, unnamed islands, Qiaotou, Daqiu, and Xiaoqiu, all within sight; during the fog season, the mountain peak is shrouded in thick mist, resembling a floating fairyland, deeply immersed in ethereal beauty.
