Tangqi Village, with its long-standing development, has always been the political, economic, and administrative center of Beigan. Nearly three-fifths of the island's population is concentrated in Tangqi. In recent years, with the support of the local government, major thoroughfares in Tangqi Village, including Zhongzheng Road and Fuxing Road, have been actively transformed into the "Tangqi Image Business District." This transformation not only preserves the traditional stone houses and the cultural landscape inscribed with slogans from the wartime era but also adds an artistic corridor to beautify the environment. In addition to the famous local foods like fish noodles and fish balls, visitors can enjoy the traditional glutinous rice pastry unique to Beigan, known as "Five-Flavored Fried Rice." Moreover, modern facilities such as 7-11, post offices, and internet cafes are readily available. Tourists can also personally experience a rare opportunity to watch movies at the community cinema organized by the Tangqi community association while enjoying popcorn with local residents, making it an experience not to be missed.
