Climbing the highest mountain in Matsu, Biyue Mountain, which stands at an elevation of 298 meters, offers a panoramic view of Beigan Island. By reaching the viewing platform on Biyue Mountain, visitors can enjoy the entire landscape of Beigan Island. Hiking enthusiasts can choose to approach from the east via a mountain path starting from Tangqi Village or take one of the two shorter trails connecting Shendong Village to Qinshi for easier access to the viewing platform, which takes about 30 minutes to reach the top. From the viewing platform halfway up the mountain, on a clear day, the horizon is quite expansive, allowing views of Beigan Airport, Tangqi Village, Houwo, and even the distant uninhabited islands of Daqiu and Xiaoqiu, offering stunning scenery. It is not only a must-visit spot for photography enthusiasts in Matsu but also the best spot for capturing the takeoff and landing of planes at Beigan Airport. Note: The winds on Biyue Mountain can be strong, so motorcyclists should be extra cautious; some areas are still military zones, so please avoid photographing military sites to prevent any disputes.
