Bishan Introduction
Climbing the highest mountain in Matsu, Beimountain, which stands at an altitude of 298 meters, offers a panoramic view of Beigan. As the highest peak in the Matsu area, the lookout platform on Beimountain allows visitors to admire the entire landscape of Beigan Island. Hikers and nature enthusiasts can choose to ascend via the eastern trail starting from Tangqi Village or take one of the two shorter trails connecting Xiangcun to Qinshi, which are less challenging and take about 30 minutes to reach the observation deck. From the viewing platform located halfway up the mountain, on clear days, the sight is breathtakingly expansive. The views encompass Beigan Airport, Tangqi Village, Houwo, and even the distant uninhabited islands of Dachau and Xiaokau. This stunning scenery not only makes it a must-visit spot for photography enthusiasts but also serves as one of the best vantage points for capturing aircraft takeoffs and landings at Beigan Airport. Note: The winds on Beimountain can be strong, so motorcycle riders should exercise caution; some areas are still military zones, so please avoid photographing military facilities to prevent potential disputes.
