Bishan Introduction
Climbing to the highest peak in Matsu, Bixan, which stands at an altitude of 298 meters, offers a panoramic view of Beigan Island. From the Bixan Viewing Platform, visitors can enjoy the breathtaking landscape of the entire Beigan island. Hikers can choose to ascend from Tangqi village via the eastern trail or take one of the two shorter paths connecting Xiangcun to Qinqu, both of which are less challenging and can be completed in about 30 minutes. At the viewing platform located halfway up the mountain, on clear days, the view is expansive, encompassing Beigan Airport, Tangqi village, Houwo, and even the distant uninhabited islands of Dakou and Xiaokou. This magnificent scenery not only makes it a must-visit location for photography enthusiasts but also serves as the best spot to capture the takeoffs and landings at Beigan Airport. Note: The wind on Bixan can be strong, so please ensure safety while riding a motorcycle. Some areas are still military zones, so please avoid photographing military installations to prevent conflicts.
