Bishan Introduction
Climbing the highest mountain in Matsu, the 298-meter-high Bi Mountain, offers a panoramic view of Beigan Island. By ascending to the Bi Mountain observation deck, visitors can enjoy the entire scenery of Beigan Island. Hiking enthusiasts can choose to take the eastern path from Tangqi Village or connect from the other end via the two trails leading from Shangcun to Qinshi to reach the observation deck, which are shorter and have fewer challenging slopes, allowing for a summit within about 30 minutes. From the observation deck located halfway up the mountain, when the weather is clear, the view is very expansive, capturing the beautiful scenery of Beigan Airport, Tangqi Village, Houwo, and even the distant uninhabited islands of Daqiu and Xiaoqiu. This magnificent sight is not only a must-photograph spot for photography enthusiasts in Matsu but also the best location for capturing the takeoff and landing of planes at Beigan Airport. Note: The winds on Bi Mountain can be strong, so motorcycle riders should pay extra attention to safety; some areas remain military zones, so please avoid aiming cameras at military sites to prevent disputes.
