Turtle Island Introduction
In the northern part of Qinbi Village, at the center of Ao Kou, there is a protruding granite reef that resembles a large sea turtle resting on the water's surface due to its unique geological features. As a result, the locals refer to it as "Turtle Island." Surrounding Turtle Island, the water is crystal clear and reflective, leading to the nickname "Mirror Bay" for Qinbi Village. Legend has it that this location has excellent Feng Shui, and local residents believe that many folk tales and beliefs originate from Turtle Island. Therefore, they regard Turtle Island as one of the treasures of the village. Every year in April and May, it becomes one of the best places to witness the "blue tears." The Legend of the Black Stone Tablet If you have a pair of binoculars or a camera in hand, don’t forget to use a telephoto lens to get a closer view. You will discover a black stone tablet on the island, inscribed with "Plant Banyans to Accumulate Wealth." It is said that around 1994, residents erected the tablet with the inscription under the guidance of the deity of the Tianhou Temple. After setting up one tablet for "Plant Banyans to Accumulate Wealth" and another for "Donors' Name Record," Qinbi Village gradually became a popular tourist destination in Matsu over the past 20 years, attracting more and more visitors as a unique folk settlement!
