Kueishan Island Introduction
In the northern part of Qienbi Village, at the center of Ao Kou, there is a prominent granite reef that resembles a giant turtle lying peacefully on the water's surface due to its unique geological features. As a result, the locals refer to it as "Turtle Island." Surrounding Turtle Island, the water is crystal clear and mirror-like, which contributed to the prosperity of Qienbi Village, known as "Mirror Bay." The legend suggests that this area has excellent feng shui, and the residents believe many folk tales and beliefs originate from Turtle Island. Consequently, Turtle Island is regarded as one of the village's treasures. Every year in April and May, it becomes one of the best places to witness the phenomenon of "blue tears." The Legend of the Black Stone Tablet: If you have a telescope or camera on hand, don't forget to use a zoom lens to get a closer look. You will find a black stone tablet on the island inscribed with the words "Plant Banyan Trees to Gather Wealth." Legend has it that around 1994, following the guidance of the Iron Arm General at the Mazu Temple, the residents erected the stone tablet on the island to inscribe "Plant Banyan Trees to Gather Wealth" and a "Donor's Name Register Stone Tablet." Over the course of more than 20 years, Qienbi Village has gradually become a popular tourist destination and a distinctive folk community in Matsu, attracting an increasing number of visitors.
