Hou'ao Minde East Leisure Introduction
Hao'ao Village, also known as "Houwu" or "Hao'ao," is named for its location at the end of the line from Baisha Village. Hao'ao is a typical seaside fishing village, with the "Yangong Eight Deities Temple" thriving in worship, where villagers prepare grand ceremonies to pay homage during festivals. The residents of the bay in the northwest of the village commonly refer to it as "Aolii," due to its northeast-facing entrance, which serves as a popular harbor for fishing boats seeking shelter from the wind. Entering this seemingly unremarkable ancient fishing village, one might find unexpected rewards and emotions. A must-visit is the ancient house number 53 in Hao'ao Village, transformed into the "Mindong Leisure Cultural Museum" through the efforts of community organizers. In 1999, under the "Settlement Preservation" rural urban planning initiative actively promoted by the Lienjiang County Government, the Beigan Cultural Association obtained the consent of the owners of the ancient house, Lin Heping and his wife, to generously lend the property for use as the "Mindong Leisure Cultural Museum." The traditional layout and unchanged structure of this ancient house render it a beautiful representation of tradition, enhanced by its location near a public square. As a result, members of the Beigan Cultural Association actively engaged in cleaning, leak-proofing, and renovations. Gradually, the site became a multi-purpose community activity center for neighbors, military personnel, and tourists to hold exhibitions, workshops, gatherings, and leisure visits. The villagers eagerly participated, with various ceramics within the "Mindong Leisure" space crafted by the village's elderly residents. Numerous scholars and poets have visited, including the poet Luo Ye, who created a new poem titled after "Mindong Leisure" during his stay in Qinbi. In 2005, renowned poet Zheng Chouyu personally inscribed a memorial, adding even more brilliance to Hao'ao Village.
