Yilan River Bikeway Introduction
The Yilan River Cycling Path stretches from Yuanshan Park to Zhongshan Bridge, connecting to Yilan Riverside Park. It follows the embankment along the Yilan River, offering a delightful view of the landscape covered in green during the spring month of April. While exploring, visitors can also discover historical sites, like the Yuanshan Shrine, and enjoy one of the "Eighteen Scenic Spots of Lanyang" – the sunset view from the western embankment. After renovation and planning, Yilan Riverside Park has become a popular recreational spot for the residents, featuring clean and organized riverbank scenery, making it one of the most beautiful cycling paths in Yilan. Starting from the riverside park and passing under the Yilan Bridge, a ride of about 5 minutes will lead you to the Social Welfare Center, which is situated in a picturesque location. The center, designed by renowned architects, is worth a visit; climbing up to higher floors provides an impressive panoramic view. Particularly along the Yilan River, besides the broad grassy areas, there are also fountains, and the river itself is a great place for kayaking nearby! This route offers varied landscapes and plenty of unique spots to explore, making it an excellent family-friendly path suitable for all ages.
