It is hard to imagine that there is such a green market on Guangming Sixth Road, the busiest traffic area in Zhubei. Entering the softly marked entrance of "Hou-Shi Community" feels like stepping into another world. In front of the warm winter and cool summer cave, there is a pond, and under the shade of green trees, water flows gently. Looking up, you can even spot black-crowned night heron nests among the branches, resembling a natural village. Six charming stores providing "good food," along with a handicraft shop, are scattered throughout this urban oasis. "Hou-Shi" means "delicious" in Hakka, and the Hou-Shi Community Agricultural and Food Cooperative states that everything sold here must meet the three principles of "clear sourcing, transparent processing, and fresh supply." Through the cooperation platform, these concepts are shared with the public. Realizing that large-scale commercial production, while reducing costs, has led to more environmental, food safety, and social justice issues, the team hopes to restore the wonderful life filled with human warmth through small but beautiful community economics like the Hou-Shi Community.
