It invites artisans from various fields such as oils, fruits and vegetables, bread, and fermentation, providing delicious meals with good ingredients and good food in a nature-friendly environment, leading everyone to re-recognize the flavors of diet and life. It's hard to imagine that in the bustling Guangming Sixth Road of Zhubei, there exists such a green market. Entering the discreet entrance of the "Hou Food Settlement," it feels like stepping into another world. In front of the cave, which is warm in winter and cool in summer, there is a pond, and a gentle stream flows under the shady trees. Looking up, one can even spot the nests of black-crowned night herons among the branches, resembling a natural mountain village settlement. Six adorable shops offering "good food," along with a handmade craft store, are scattered throughout this urban oasis. "Hou Food" means "delicious" in Hakka. The Hou Food Settlement Agricultural Food Cooperative states that everything sold here must adhere to the three principles of "clear sourcing, transparent processing, and fresh supply," and it shares these concepts with the public through the Tree Courtyard Cooperative Platform. Recognizing that large-scale commercial production lowers costs but gives rise to more issues related to the environment, food safety, and social justice, the team hopes to rediscover a beautiful life full of human warmth through the small yet beautiful community economy of the Hou Food Settlement.
