Tonghua Park Introduction
The Tucheng District Office in New Taipei City established Tonghua Park in 2004 to promote healthy ecological tourism. Covering an area of seven hectares, Tonghua Park is located on the slopes of Tian Shang Mountain, the highest peak in Tucheng, within a valley formed by Nantianmu Mountain and Huo Yan Mountain. The park features a winding wooden pathway along the Shibiliu Creek, providing access to its scenic spots. Tonghua Park is a multifunctional recreational area equipped with various facilities, including an outdoor performance area and seating, a charcoal kiln display area, a teahouse resting platform, a viewpoint overlooking Tucheng City, a triangular suspension bridge for children to play on, a three-dimensional climbing net, and a firefly restoration area, making it a versatile leisure park. Every spring and early summer, the park blooms with nearly a hundred oil tung trees and mountain cherry blossoms, creating a picturesque scene resembling falling snow. Visitors often gather and arrange the collected tung flowers into heart shapes, adding a romantic touch. In recent years, with successful ecological restoration, fireflies can be seen flying at night, allowing people to temporarily forget the hustle and bustle of the city and embrace the tranquility of nature.
