Tonghua Park Introduction
The Tucheng District Office of New Taipei City established Tung Flower Park, covering an area of seven hectares, in 2004 to promote healthy ecological tourism. Located on the hillside of Tian Shang Mountain, the highest peak in Tucheng, the park features a valley terrain formed by Nantenmu Mountain and Huoyan Mountain, with a winding waterside wooden pathway along the Shibi Liao Creek. Tung Flower Park is a multifunctional recreational park equipped with various facilities, including an outdoor performance area and seating, a charcoal kiln display area, a tea resting platform, an observation deck overlooking the urban area of Tucheng, a triangular suspension bridge for children's play, a three-dimensional climbing net, and a firefly rehabilitation area, making it a versatile leisure destination. The park is home to nearly a hundred oil tung trees and mountain cherry blossoms, which bloom in late spring and early summer. Visitors can stroll along the scenic pathways to enjoy the beautiful sight of tung flowers resembling snow; it’s common to see tourists arranging collected tung flower petals into heart shapes, creating a romantic atmosphere. In recent years, successful ecological restoration efforts have made it possible to see fireflies at night, allowing visitors to temporarily forget the hustle and bustle and immerse themselves in the embrace of nature.
