Taiji Ridge Introduction
Taiji Ridge Trail is located within the Lengshuikeng Leisure Park in Tucheng, close to the Tucheng urban area. It features a tranquil mountain lake and multiple interconnected hiking trails, including Wenbi Mountain, Jiangjun Ridge, Wucheng Mountain, and Taiji Ridge, making it a popular retreat for local residents. The area around Taiji Ridge is known for its abundance of paulownia flowers, and the trail has recently become one of the viewing routes for the “Tucheng May Paulownia Flower Festival.” In early spring 2012, a section of the trail near the mountain peak, called the “Cherry Blossom Tunnel” with 101 steps, gained media attention and has since become a newly emerging cherry blossom viewing secret in New Taipei City. Walking along the Taiji Ridge Trail allows visitors to enjoy the flowers while taking in scenic views of Tucheng, Banqiao, Xinzhuang, and even distant locations like Linkou Plateau and Guanyin Mountain, providing a refreshing and soothing experience. Taiji Ridge is situated on a plateau at the mid-elevation of the Wucheng Mountain range, where hikers have planted numerous cherry blossom trees, making it one of Tucheng's cherry blossom secret spots. It takes about 30 minutes to walk from the entrance of the trail near the parking lot by the mountain lake, and it can also be accessed from Shi-Men Road, numbers 64 and 68. The trailhead features an entrance with 101 steps, symbolizing health and wealth, and has become a popular hiking route for visitors from the suburbs of Tucheng.
