Army Academy (History Museum) Introduction

In the early years of the Republic, with foreign powers circling and internal and external troubles, to establish national military strength and cultivate military talent, Dr. Sun Yat-sen decided to establish the Army Officer Academy. In the thirteenth year of the Republic, it was founded on Changzhou Island in Guangzhou, with Chiang Kai-shek appointed as the principal. He personally awarded the school motto "Loyalty and Courage" and delivered the opening speech (which is also the lyrics of our national anthem). This marks the founding history of the Army Officer Academy. The academy has relocated three times in response to the situation and has nurtured tens of thousands of resilient and brave military talents who uphold integrity and protect the nation and its people. To document and preserve the touching history of the Army Officer Academy, which includes the Northern Expedition, the War of Resistance, and anti-bandit efforts over nearly a century since its founding, the Academy established a History Museum next to the tennis court on Huangpu Sixth Road, adjacent to the Education Exhibition Hall. It introduces the founding process of Huangpu and its vision, categorized into sections on Dr. Sun and Huangpu, Chiang and Huangpu, Mr. Jingguo and Huangpu, and today's Huangpu. Visitors can explore various historical materials and photographs in the two-story building, making it the best place to understand the cradle of Taiwan's army talent cultivation and the century-long history of the government.
