Hui Gu Ceramics Village Introduction
Beside the Miaoli County Highway 48, there is a red-brick house with an outdoor garden adorned with colorful wishing wind chimes. Whenever the mountain breeze visits, the clear sound of the chimes rings merrily, as if greeting the wind and welcoming every friend visiting "Hui Gu Pottery Village." Indeed, this place, with a romantic charm and a symphony of happiness, covers an area of over 2,000 ping (approximately 66,000 square feet) and is known as "Hui Gu Pottery Village." Hui Gu Pottery Village is co-founded by the couple Dai Zhi-Ting and Chen Yi-Tzu. Teacher Chen was once a ceramic painter in Yingge, so within Hui Gu's exhibition space, visitors can find numerous elegant blue and white porcelain pieces, ranging from early hand-painted blue and white porcelain to pottery creations. Hui Gu Pottery Village is one of the few kilns in Taiwan that simultaneously possesses the manufacturing capabilities for both pottery and porcelain. Its modern pottery creations are especially loved by the public! For example, the seasonal products during the Tung Blossom Festival, whether it's tea sets or wall clocks, feature elegant and simple designs that bring out the enchanting beauty of the Tung flowers, making them irresistible! In addition to exhibiting various creative pottery and porcelain pieces, the park also opens its kiln for observation and plans a variety of DIY teaching activities, including painting wind chimes, tableware, tea sets, and flower vases, as well as courses in hand-throwing, pouring, and kneading clay. These rich and fun experiences allow visitors to fully enjoy the joy of creation and immerse themselves in the intellectual world of pottery art.
