Seagaia Resort Introduction
The Sai Jia Aviation Park is located in Sai Jia Village, Sandimen Township, Pingtung County. Due to the barrier of the Central Mountain Range, it creates relatively stable updrafts with an elevation of about 1,000 meters and a flying space of 16 kilometers, providing ample room for activities. Additionally, its proximity to the Pingtung Plain makes it an ideal landing spot. With favorable climate and environment, it is particularly suitable for paragliding and hang gliding, thus being planned as the first aviation-themed park in Taiwan. The facilities at Sai Jia Aviation Park are divided into three parts: the mountain take-off area, the flat landing area, and the comprehensive hang gliding training camp. The mountain take-off area on the eastern side features steep terrain with stable updrafts, making it an excellent launch site. On the western side, the flat landing area is characterized by a flat plain with beautiful scenery and wide visibility, making it the most suitable landing area due to the lack of ground obstacles. As for the comprehensive hang gliding training camp at the southern end of the park, although it has planned accommodation, it is currently used only for training by athletes and public groups and is not open to the public. With its climatic advantages, Sai Jia Aviation Park has the best flying times every day from around 10 AM to 4 PM, as stable thermal winds often occur during this period. The optimal flying season is generally from December to the following March, making it not only the first of its kind in Taiwan but also the only place in Asia where paragliding and hang gliding activities can be conducted in winter. Each year, it attracts many flying enthusiasts from both domestic and international backgrounds to experience the thrill of soaring through the skies.
