Little Yellow Mountain Introduction
Xiaohuangshan is located downstream of Beinan River, near Liji Bridge, opposite the Liji Badlands across the Beinan River. Xiaohuangshan is part of the Beinan conglomerate layer at the end of the Central Mountain Range, which belongs to the Eurasian Plate. After being eroded by rainwater, it presents a spectacular view of towering odd-shaped rocks, with bare yellow soil and rugged peaks, reminiscent of Huangshan. Although it does not possess the grandeur of China’s Huangshan, it still has its own charm, exhibiting elegance and beauty in its tranquility. Nearby, there is a Xiaohuangshan Park, featuring simple stone-paved walking paths that surround it. From afar, one can gaze at the opposite Xiaohuangshan, where occasional dust clouds rise, creating a sudden sense of desolate beauty. It is one of the unique attractions in Taitung that embodies the tropical charm of the region.
