Taitung Old Railway Corridor Introduction
The Taitung Old Railway Green Road is 6 kilometers long. After the old Taitung Railway Station officially ceased operations on June 1, 2001, the county government secured central funding to convert the old railway from the old station to Beinan Great Aqueduct into a wooden walkway, creating an important recreational space for Taitung residents. It allows pedestrians to walk from the old railway station to the new station and continue in the direction of Beinan. Along the old railway green road, the scenery is diverse; in the section closer to the city center, the community garden landscape is formed by roadside trees and the residential and commercial areas on both sides. After passing through Kaifeng Street and crossing Taiping Creek, you will encounter the Zeng Zhengyuan Art Space, which was originally the Malan Station, where the original platform has been preserved for a temporary rest. At the end of the old railway green road, you can see the quaint Taiping Creek Railway Bridge. The entire old railway green road runs through Taitung City and is a great place for the public to relax, stroll, and ride bicycles.
