Taitung Old Railroad Art Village Introduction
The Taitung Old Railway Corridor stretches 6 kilometers and was officially abandoned on June 1, 2001. After the county government sought central funding, a wooden walkway was constructed along the old railway between the old train station and Beinan Irrigation Waterway, becoming an essential leisure walking space for Taitung City residents. Visitors can walk from the old train station to the new station, extending towards Beinan. The scenery along the Old Railway Corridor varies greatly; the area near the city features planted trees, and the residential and commercial properties along the sides create a unique community corridor garden landscape. Continuing past Kaifeng Street and crossing the Taiping River, you'll encounter the former Malan Station, now the Zeng Zhengyuan Art Space, with its platform preserved for temporary rest. At the end of the Old Railway Corridor, you can see the quaint Taiping River Railway Bridge. This entire corridor connects Taitung City, making it a great place for leisure activities, walking, and cycling.
