Taitung Old Railway Art Village Introduction
The Taitung Old Railway Corridor stretches for 6 kilometers. It was established after the old Taitung railway station was officially decommissioned on June 1, 2001. With the support of the central government, the local government transformed the old railway line from the old station to the Beinan River into a wooden path, providing a significant recreational walking space for the residents of Taitung City. Visitors can walk from the old train station to the new station and continue further in the direction of Beinan. The scenery along the Old Railway Corridor varies greatly. In the section closer to the city, the planting of roadside trees and the residential and commercial areas create a unique community corridor garden landscape. After passing Kaifeng Street and continuing along the path, visitors will come across the former Malan Station, now known as the Zeng Chengyuan Art Space, where the preserved platform offers a place to rest temporarily. At the end of the Old Railway Corridor, visitors can see the quaint Taiping Creek Railway Bridge. This entire corridor runs through Taitung City, making it an excellent spot for relaxation, walking, and cycling.
