Taitung Old Railway Art Village Introduction
The Taitung Old Rail Corridor is 6 kilometers long. After the old Taitung Railway Station officially ceased operations on June 1, 2001, the county government sought central government subsidies to transform the old railway from the old station to the Beinan River into a wooden walkway, making it an important recreational space for Taitung residents. Visitors can walk from the old railway station to the new station, extending towards Beinan. Along the old rail corridor, the scenery is diverse; in the section near the urban area, there are roadside trees, and the homes and businesses on both sides create a unique community corridor garden landscape. After passing Kaifeng Street and going a bit further past the Taiping Creek, one can see the Zeng Zhengyuan Art Space, which was originally the Malan Station, where the preserved platform offers a place to rest. At the end of the old rail corridor, there is the charming Taiping Creek Railway Bridge. The entire old rail corridor connects the urban area of Taitung City, making it a great place for people to relax, walk, and ride bicycles.
