National Taitung Living Arts Museum Introduction
National Taitung Living Art Museum is located opposite the Taitung County Government. The current site was formerly the Martial Arts Hall of Taitung Prefecture during the Japanese colonial period. It was demolished in 1980 and rebuilt as a modern building, which has now become a cultural hub for promoting aesthetic education and cultivating an artistic environment in Taitung. Strolling through the brightly lit venue, visitors can find displays of local artists' individual works or themed group exhibitions. From paintings to sculptures, and from multimedia creations to mixed media works, the artworks offer a glimpse into the artists' passion for art. Occasionally, artisans take up residence in the exhibition area, engaging visitors in hands-on activities such as making glass beads, weaving with rushes, and indigo dyeing, allowing art to merge with everyday life and inspire creativity. After nightfall, the National Taitung Living Art Museum takes on a romantic ambiance. The "Cultural Broadway" space hosts occasional nighttime events featuring local bands and amateur singers that present live performances. The casual and melodious music always attracts crowds, allowing everyone to enjoy a relaxed and wonderful evening in a free-spirited atmosphere.
