Taitung Forest Park Introduction
Adjacent to Taitung City, Taitung Forest Park is located at the intersection of the city and the ocean, covering an area of 280 hectares. The expansive park features diverse landscapes, including estuarine coastal wetlands, large grassy areas, and lush forests, all presenting a delightful view of greenery. Within the park, there are three major lakes: the crystal-clear "Pipa Lake," the bird-watching hotspot "Egret Lake," and the water sports venue "Living Water Lake," each providing different sensory experiences. It is ideal to visit by bicycle to enjoy the time spent dancing with nature. In the 1960s, Taitung Forest Park planted numerous Casuarina trees to prevent dust from the northeast monsoon, resulting in a dark forest appearance, hence its former name "Black Forest." The park’s bicycle paths connect with the Mountain-Sea Bicycle Path and international landmarks, allowing cyclists to immerse themselves in the beautiful forest scenery, passing by Pipa Lake to admire the dreamlike lake and mountain views, and as they enter the coastal park, the vast Pacific Ocean unfolds before them, savoring the flavors of both forest and sea.
