Taitung Forest Park Introduction
Adjacent to downtown Taitung City, Taitung Forest Park is located at the intersection of the city and the sea, covering an area of 280 hectares. The vast park features diverse landscapes including estuarine coastal wetlands, expansive grasslands, and lush forests, all presenting a refreshing green view that uplifts the spirit. Within Taitung Forest Park, there are three major lakes: "Pipa Lake," known for its crystal-clear waters, "Egret Lake," a birdwatching paradise, and "Living Water Lake," which hosts various water sports events. Each body of water offers a unique sensory experience, making it ideal for cycling and enjoying time spent in nature. In the 1960s, Taitung Forest Park was planted with Casuarina trees to prevent dust from the northeast monsoon, creating a dark forest landscape, hence the old name "Black Forest." The bike paths in the forest park are interconnected with the Mountain-Sea Bikeway and international landmarks, allowing cyclists to immerse themselves in the beautiful scenery of the forest, pass by Pipa Lake to appreciate its dreamy lake and mountain views, and upon entering the coastal park, enjoy the vastness of the Pacific Ocean, savoring the flavors of both the forest and the sea.
