Fengshan District Sweet Potato Lane Introduction

Fanshuliao is located next to Bridge No. 18 on the Coastal Highway and offers one of the most unique canyon landscapes on the East Coast. Here, visitors can observe the contrasting topography on both sides of the road, shaped by the accumulation and cutting actions of streams due to different geological formations. The west side of the highway features gently rolling hills and valleys, where farmlands and farmhouses are scattered on the flat river terraces. Meanwhile, the Fanshuliao Creek running through Bridge No. 18 boasts steep canyons nearly 100 meters deep, resembling the Taroko Gorge. From the observation deck, one can view the deep valley, steep rock walls, and lush greenery. The Eastern District Office has set up a rest area here, which includes a parking lot, wooden railings, well-maintained flowers and trees, a rustic observation deck, and public restrooms. In front of the rest area, there are shops offering hot and cold beverages.
