Sweet Potato Lane Introduction

Fanshuriao is located next to Bridge No. 18 on the Coastal Highway, featuring the most unique canyon landscape on the East Coast. Here, visitors can observe the contrasting topographic scenery on both sides of the highway, shaped by different geological processes of stream deposition and erosion. To the west of the highway are gently rolling hills and valleys, with farmland and cottages scattered across the flat river terraces amid meandering streams; while on both sides of Fanshuriao Creek, which flows through Bridge No. 18, there are steep canyons reaching nearly 100 meters in depth, reminiscent of Taroko Gorge. From the observation deck, the canyon appears deep and the cliffs steep, with lush greenery. The East Coast National Scenic Area Administration has established a rest area here, which includes a parking lot, wooden railings, neat flower arrangements, a simply designed observation deck, and restrooms. A shop offering hot and cold beverages is also available in front of the rest area.
