Baji Viewing Platform Introduction
Baqi Observation Deck is located at kilometer 32 on Taiwan Highway 11, a rare viewpoint along the coastal highway. From the observation deck, looking south, one can see Ichishi Bay, Guihou Cape, and Xinshe Cliff, featuring a uniquely tiered coastal landscape. The deck is equipped with several coin-operated telescopes for clearer viewing; on calm evenings during sunset, you can spot fishing boats returning home. Looking towards the south from the deck, you can distinctly see the small hill on the south side of Ichishi Bay, as well as the crater at its peak. The East Coast National Scenic Area Administration has set up a rest area here, surrounded by many shade trees and elegant flower beds, complete with a spacious parking lot and clean restrooms. There is also a small shop styled with indigenous culture, showcasing the owner's artistic creations, toys made from driftwood, and various indigenous handicrafts. The shop serves cold and hot drinks, light meals, braised delicacies, a variety of beverages, and coffee. With rustic wooden tables and chairs, visitors can take a break and enjoy their meals here.
