Baqi Observation Deck Introduction

The Baci Viewing Platform is located at the 32-kilometer mark on Provincial Highway 11, serving as a rare vantage point along the coastal highway. From the platform, visitors can gaze southward to see the unique layered coastal landscape featuring Isozaki Bay, Turtle Mouth Cape, and the New Community Cliff. Several coin-operated telescopes are available for tourists seeking a clearer view. On calm days during sunset, one can spot fishing boats returning home. Looking south from the platform also reveals a small hill on the southern side of Isozaki Bay, complete with a volcanic crater at its peak. The East Coast National Scenic Area Administration has established a recreational area here, surrounded by many shade trees and elegant flower beds, along with a spacious parking lot and clean restrooms. There is a small shop styled after indigenous culture that displays the owner’s artistic creations, toys made from driftwood, and various handicrafts. The shop offers hot and cold drinks, quick meals, braised dishes, various beverages, and coffee. Rustic wooden tables and chairs are available for visitors to rest and enjoy their refreshments.
