Fenglin Hakka Cultural Museum Introduction

The Hakka Cultural Museum in Fenglin Township, located within Fenglin Park, is the first Hakka cultural museum in eastern Taiwan. Although the museum is not large in size, its collection is quite rich. The first floor introduces the pioneering records, beliefs, transportation, and daily utensils of Hakka people in Hualien. The second floor showcases traditional clothing and early Hakka farming tools, such as wind drums, rakes, mortars, and more, all of which have been voluntarily donated by local residents. Additionally, the exhibits on the production of Hakka rice dishes and vegetable buns, as well as the cultivation of the "Three Treasures of Hakka Agriculture"—rice, corn, and sweet potatoes—are particularly impressive. The museum has a comprehensive collection of historical materials, allowing visitors to gain a detailed understanding of the Hakka development history of Fenglin Township and to broadly learn about the migration history of Hakka people in eastern Taiwan. Since it is located within Fenglin Park, visitors can enjoy relaxing in the park after absorbing rich knowledge, experiencing the pleasure of combining learning and leisure.
